Yeddyurappa loses his cool | Irked by thin attendance at Kagawad rally in Belagavi district.

BJP Chief Ministerial candidate B.S. Yeddyurappa arrived in Kagawad to campaign for party nominee and MLA Raju Kage on Friday. But he had to wait nearly an hour for the crowd to gather.

The former Chief Minister’s helicopter landed in the helipad in a field in Kagwad at around 3 p.m. He was informed of the thin attendance in the rally. He preferred to sit inside the helicopter for over half-an-hour. He then entered the house of a supporter where he had tea. He lost his temper and reprimanded Mr. Kage and other leaders including MP Suresh Angadi and former Minister Shashikant Naik for failing to organise the rally properly.

“Is this why you invited me to Belagavi, to show that you cannot organise a rally? Why can’t you get enough people to attend the rally?,” he asked them.

Mr. Yeddyurappa came out at around 4 p.m. to head for the rally. He spoke for a few minutes and left the venue, saying he had to address several rallies during the day.
