Work on four more railway over bridges will be taken up in Belagavi to reduce traffic congestion, said MP Suresh Angadi here on Tuesday. After a meeting with officials of several department, Angadi said work on the ROB near the third railway gate will start by July 15.
He said he instructed officials to complete the tender process in the next 20 days and start work by next month. He added that the Railways had sent a project proposal to the BCC and the tender will be called once BCC approves it.

“I have also asked the railway officials to prepare the estimation for the ROB at Tanaji Galli railway gate,” Angadi told reporters.

According to Angadi, people from areas like Tilakwadi, Anagol and Khasbag are demanding that another entrance be built for the railway station opposite the existing one. “Since the goods shed has been shifted to Sambra, I asked railway officials to use the space to build another entrance to the station and provide all facilities given at the existing entry including ticket booking,” Angadi said. The MP said he has set a deadline of August 31 to the railway officials to complete the ongoing ROB work at Gogte Circle.
